Privacy and responsible data use

EMDR Match separates anonymous directory measurement from identified professional accounts, profiles and applications. This page explains what happens in each case.

Why EMDR Match exists

EMDR Match was created for informational purposes in response to the difficulty of finding, comparing and checking professional profiles that state specific EMDR training. Information is often scattered across personal websites, clinics and public professional profiles, making it difficult to find real options by location, language, format and area of work.

Information used in profiles comes only from public sources connected with professional activity: the person’s website, their clinic website or an individual public professional profile. Each editorial profile identifies its source and access date so it can be checked.

This is an independent editorial directory. It is not a professional association, official register, healthcare service or certification of suitability. Inclusion does not replace directly checking professional standing, registration, training, availability and suitability for an individual case. Only profiles that complete the published checks may display the verified-profile badge.

Directory measurement

We retain only action type and source section. Closed search categories may include country, location, area and a coarse supply range so we can identify where professionals are missing. We do not retain free-text searches or create browsing profiles.

In addition, only if you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits and general actions such as completed searches, selected profiles and contacts. We send Google the page path without parameters, aggregated or boolean categories and public profile references; never search text or specific country, location or speciality values. Google signals and advertising personalisation are disabled.

What analytics does not retain

• EMDR Match’s internal measurement does not use cookies; Google Analytics may create analytics cookies only after your consent.
• We do not send Google names, email addresses, phone numbers, free text, clinical information or patient data.
• We do not enable advertising, Google Signals or ad personalisation.
• You can reject or withdraw consent at any time from “Analytics settings”.

Google acts as analytics provider and may process technical data such as browser, device, approximate country and IP address under its documentation and terms. See Google’s privacy policy ↗.

Free text and safety

Free text is interpreted temporarily in your browser. Generated URLs retain only closed categories. A direct expression of immediate risk may trigger public-help information, but the phrase is not stored or classified.

Profiles created from public professional sources

EMDR Match may create an editorial profile from information already published about a person’s work by the person, their clinic or an individual public professional profile. The purpose is to make EMDR professionals discoverable through basic, checkable facts. Each profile shows its source and check date.

• We limit the profile to professional identity and title, general location, format, languages, client groups, areas of work and a link to the source.
• We do not copy biographies, reviews, photographs, prices, phone numbers or email addresses; we write a short original editorial summary.
• These profiles are labelled “unclaimed” and never receive the verified-profile badge unless the published checks have been completed.
• We review whether the source remains current and correct or remove a profile when the information is no longer supported or the person exercises their rights.

This processing is limited to professionals’ public activity and relies on the legitimate interest in operating a specialist directory, subject to a balancing test that prioritises minimisation, transparency and reasonable expectations. The person may object or request access, correction, erasure or restriction at no cost.

Professional accounts and profiles

When you create a professional account, we retain your professional name, email address, an irreversibly hashed password, the privacy acceptance date and the sessions needed to keep you signed in. When you create a profile, we retain the professional details you provide, including a required contact email, optional phone number, registration, jurisdiction, EMDR training, location, formats, languages, client groups, areas, website and description.

• The session cookie is strictly necessary, is not used for advertising and expires after no more than 30 days.
• Contact email and phone are private: they appear only in the administration panel and never on the public profile.
• Drafts and profiles submitted for review are not public. Publication requires a separate review.
• You can edit or delete your profile from the dashboard. Deletion removes the profile and its associated management data.
• We retain the account while it remains active or is needed to manage a profile, subject to applicable legal retention periods.

Identified professional applications

Named application forms are not active yet. They will not open until the controller identity and contact, purpose, legal basis, retention, recipients, transfers and exercise of rights are configured and published in English and Spanish.

Leaving the directory

When you contact a professional, you leave EMDR Match. Subsequent data use is governed by the privacy information on their website or contact channel.
