EMDR training and legal professional authority are not the same. Verify both separately and ask about relevant experience with your reason for seeking care.

Questions about these directories
Are these government registers?
No. They are directories maintained by professional EMDR associations. Legal authority to practise depends on the underlying profession and local rules, and must be checked separately.
Does association listing guarantee that a therapist is right for me?
No. Membership or accreditation is a checkable signal, but it does not replace checking professional licensure, relevant experience, language, format, availability and personal fit.
Why do requirements differ between countries?
There is no single worldwide EMDR licence. Each association sets its own membership or accreditation categories, while countries regulate mental-health professions differently.
What if my country is not listed?
Use EMDR Europe’s national-association list if you are in Europe or try EMDRIA’s finder. Also check the regulator for psychology, psychiatry or psychotherapy in your jurisdiction.
